Workshop Introduction to Research Data Management 2026

Goal

The workshop addresses current challenges in managing, sharing, and preserving research data and workflows in collaborative and interdisciplinary research environments within POLiS. It introduces structured approaches to research data handling and their implementation using the Kadi ecosystem.

The workshop is structured in two parts:

Part 1 - Introduction to selected aspects of research data handling in collaborative research environments, illustrated through typical use-cases from POLiS. FAIR data principles are briefly addressed in this context.

Part 2 - Introduction to Kadi as an environment for structured research data management. Participants will become familiar with core concepts (Records, Templates, linking mechanisms) and translate research processes into structured representations in Kadi through guided, practice-oriented exercises based on real research use-cases.
